Privacy Policy
1. Data controller. Personal data collected through this site is processed by Maria Margarida Costa de Jesus, operator of Casinhas da Praia, reachable at casinhasdapraia@gmail.com and +351 914 816 299, under the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and Portuguese Law 58/2019 of 8 August.
2. Data we collect. Through the booking request form we collect: name, email, phone, check-in and check-out dates, number of guests, preferred house and the message you send us. We do not collect data by any other means on this site.
3. Purpose and legal basis. We use this data solely to reply to your request and manage a possible booking (pre-contractual steps at your request — art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We do not use your data for marketing without permission, and no automated decision-making or profiling is carried out on your data.
4. Recipients, processors and international transfers. The site is hosted on Cloudflare; form submission is processed by Web3Forms and messages are delivered to Gmail (Google). Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, under adequate safeguards (EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses). We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties; it may be shared only with authorities where legally required.
5. Guest registration. If the booking goes ahead, at check-in we collect the legally required identification data and report it to the competent authorities (AIMA — accommodation bulletin), under a legal obligation (art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
6. Retention. Requests that do not result in a booking are deleted within a maximum of 12 months. Data from confirmed bookings is kept for the applicable legal periods, namely tax (up to 10 years).
7. Your rights. You may exercise the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and withdraw consent at any time, by writing to casinhasdapraia@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD, www.cnpd.pt, Av. D. Carlos I, 134, 1.º, 1200-651 Lisbon).
8. Security. We take reasonable measures to protect your data against unauthorised access or disclosure.
Terms & Conditions
1. Purpose. The form on this site is a booking request, with no payment attached. A booking is only confirmed after our express reply and payment of the indicated deposit.
2. Booking and payment. Once we confirm availability, we send payment details (bank transfer). A deposit secures the booking; the balance is settled as agreed.
3. Minimum stays. From October to May, minimum of 3 nights. From June to September, bookings run 7 nights, Saturday to Saturday. The maximum capacity of each house is 5 guests and may not be exceeded.
4. Check-in / check-out. Arrival from 5:00 pm; departure by 11:00 am, unless otherwise agreed. At check-in, an identification document is requested for each guest, for the mandatory registration with the authorities (accommodation bulletin).
5. House rules. Smoking is not allowed inside the houses; please respect the neighbours' rest and night-time quiet hours (General Noise Regulation); parties and events are not allowed; pets are not accepted.
6. Cancellation. Cancellation terms are communicated in the booking confirmation and form an integral part of these terms.
7. Right of withdrawal. Under Decree-Law 24/2014, the right of withdrawal does not apply to accommodation services with a specific date or period of performance, such as bookings with set dates.
8. Liability. The guest is responsible for damage caused during the stay. We are not liable for personal belongings or circumstances beyond our control.
